Burghfield Sailing Club
Situated on Station Road Burghfield Sailing Club is one of the largest inland sailing clubs in the Country with just over 200 acres of sailable waters. The Club is open everyday form sunrise to sunset with excellent changing facilities. Come along to Hosehill Lakes Nature Reserve, if you are a keen bird watcher or just fancy an afternoon stroll why not come down and soak up all of the beauty that it has to offer.
Kennet & Avon Cannal
Visit Garston Lock in Theale along the river Kennet. The lock was built in around 1720 and is a rare example of a turf-side lock, one of only two remaining in britain. You can either walk all the way to Reading or go the other way to Newbury, it makes fantastic exercise and is good for dog walking, it is simply stunning.
Newbury Racecourse
Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire is not only a top sporting venue but also a first class Conference & Events venue. Home to the famous Hennessy Gold Cup, Newbury offers some of the best horseracing in the country with raceday hospitality to match.
This fantatic racecourse is a 30 minute drive from the pub and The Fox & Hounds which is only minutes from J12, is a perfect stop of point for a meal before or after a long day at the races. Theale train station is less than 1 mile from the pub.
